SHNA participated in the Washington County hearing on October 15th at 1 PM. Joe Turner, Washington County Hearings Officer, held the hearing on Zoom. Many residents of Sylvan Highlands and other affected neighborhoods joined to testify against Tandem Property’s application to develop an additional 236 apartments at the north end of 1066 SW 66th Avenue. Neighbors oppose more apartments that would impact streets, habitat, watershed, our transportation system, and livability in and around Sylvan Highlands.
On October 22nd, Sylvan Highlands submitted additional testimony and a video of the traffic impacts. The applicant, Tandem Property, had until October 29th to add material before the record closed. The Hearings Officer is expected to issue a decision no later than November 19th. We’ll share it as soon as we hear.
