Hello Neighbors!
We have been gifted 50 adult Zoo Lights tickets courteous of the Oregon Zoo to be used on Sunday, December 5th or Monday, December 6th. These tickets do not have timed entry restrictions. This year we will also be partnering with LIFT UP (Prestons Food Pantry).
To pick up tickets meet Michele Shea-han, our SHNA President, near the Zoo Entrance from 4:00p-5:30p Sunday, December 5th where she will be standing with a balloon and a barrel for LIFT UP Preston Pantry Food Donations.
Most needed food items:
- Low sodium foods
- Low/no sugar added foods
- Dried beans, grains, rice
- Canned meats such as tuna, chicken, etc
- Canned soups
Food pantry donations will be collected at Zoo Light ticket pick up and continue through the month of December. There will be a collection barrel at the Zoo and she will gladly accept food donations at her house (1420 SW 57th Ave) for the remainder of the month.
Neighbors are welcome to drop off at her door step and she will bring the donations to Preston’s Pantry (Lift Up) on behalf of SHNA. Each barrel will hold 150 pounds of food and we are encouraged to fill as many as we can.
Neighbors are also encouraged to provide a monetary donation to Lift Up, as every $5.00 donated equates to 15 meals to our neighbors in need in NW and Downtown Portland. The SHNA will happily accept checks or cash. If you would like a receipt for your tax deduction, then we will need a check so we know who to send the receipt to. https://www.lifturbanportland.org/
