| We won round one — but the fight’s not over yet. Here’s how we keep the momentum going. 1. Initial Win — 236 Unit Development Denied Great news: Washington County denied Tandem Property’s application for 236 additional apartment units just west of SW 61st Drive. This is a big win for our neighborhood, and it’s thanks in large part to the sustained work of our Land Use Committee, which has been advocating against this development for months. 2. Now Appealed — Next Hearing 9/17The developer has appealed the county’s decision. A hearing has been scheduled for September 17 at 1 PM. We’ll share more details on how to participate or submit testimony as soon as we have them. 3. Keeping Up the FightStuart Rosenfeld, our neighbor on SW 61st Drive and Land Use Chair for SHNA, has led SHNA’s opposition to this case from the start. He is a tenacious and hard-working neighborhood hero, and we could not have gotten this far without him. |
