| It can sometimes feel like our concerns don’t get much traction with the city—but this is a concrete example that they do! The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) ran a special enforcement mission this past weekend (Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6) targeting illegal street racing, street takeovers, and reckless driving across the city — including monitoring near Skyline Boulevard and Barnes Road, an area where Central Precinct has received complaints from our community. |

| Good news: officers observed no illegal street racing or takeover activity here Saturday night. Citywide, the results of the mission were: – 87 traffic stops – 7 vehicles that eluded officers (one estimated at 150 mph) – 1 stolen vehicle recovered – 4 vehicles towed – 4 arrests PPB says it will continue these enforcement efforts as resources allow. The fact that Skyline and Barnes were specifically named as an enforcement focus shows that the complaints our neighbors have submitted are being tracked and acted on. If you notice street racing or reckless driving in our area, it’s worth continuing to report it to Sally Kneuven, President of the Sylvan Highlands Neighborhood Association at test.secretary@wvnavhda.com.
