The SOLVE cleanup event held on Saturday, April 20th saw enthusiastic participation from volunteers who diligently tackled various areas for trash cleanup. Groups spread out across Canyon Court, bike and pedestrian pathways, and key locations like bus stops, ensuring a thorough sweep of litter. Notably, efforts extended to SW Barnes Rd. and SW 48th, with a highlight being the cleanup around the Burnside Tunnel, which presented its challenges.
The event benefitted from the support of Holman, an automotive dealership, as the site sponsor, along with favorable weather that facilitated smooth operations. Food provisions, including pizzas and donut holes, generously donated by Pizza Schmizza and Sesame Donuts respectively, fueled the volunteers!
Neighbor, Sarah Harrington’s photography captured the day’s essence, while community members like Emmet Shea-han on his one wheel, seen cleaning up trash along Skyline, showcased individual commitment to the cause. Thank you all that came out and volunteered to make our pocket of Portland the best it can be!
